Noor Jehan was called The Melody Queen or Mallika-e-Tarrannum. My parents tell me that she was very popular in both India and Pakistan and they enjoyed her songs. She sang many songs in both Urdu and Punjabi. Noor Jehan is gone but her music will be there forever for music lovers to cherish and enjoy.

I did not know much about her but I had definitely heard her songs. As I was trying to find information about her I came across Upperstall.com  which had a very nice write up about Noor Jehan.
